Unlike our ancestors, we have 24/7 access to food. Many of the foods available to us have been altered from their natural state to increase their shelf life and crave factor. Our bodies digest and absorb these refined foods quickly, creating a spike in the fat-storing hormone, insulin. These processed and refined foods are also calorie-dense, which helps explain why the average person’s daily calorie consumption has increased by 24 percent since the 1960s.

In other words, we’ve gained weight because of abundance and excess. To lose weight, some restrictions must occur. What you choose to cut back on is up to you. In this video, I explain the three ways you can lose weight.

A MAN who shed an incredible 310 lbs after becoming morbidly obese has had 13 lbs of loose skin removed in a life-changing procedure. At one point, John Allaire was so morbidly obese he wore 8XL shirts and had to be weighed on a commercial scale at a fish market, as standard scales would not hold his weight. But after joining a fitness programme and dropping from 540 pounds to a lean 230 lbs, the 27-year-old was left with severe excess skin. John underwent skin removal surgery in March which saw the bulk of the loose skin on his torso and arms removed – but will require further surgery in the future to remove the skin on his lower body.

In this video, I want to give you all of the knowledge you need to lose weight, get into fat-burning, and stay in fat-burning.

Most people are running on stored sugar—they’re not tapping into fat. It takes between one to three months to become fully fat-adapted. But these tips can help speed up this process.

How to know if you’re fat-adapted:
1. You can go longer between meals without hunger
2. You no longer crave carbs
3. You’re energy is stable, and you have more energy
4. Your mental activity is enhanced, and your mood is elevated
5. You have increased endurance during exercise
6. You’re sleeping better

Different variables affect your ability to burn fat. But you have the ability to affect every one of these variables.

The more you control these factors, the more you can control your ability to burn fat, your metabolism, your quality of life, and your level of health.

How to speed up fat-burning:
1. Exercise
• Do HIIT only once or twice per week with plenty of recovery.

2. Take apple cider vinegar before bed
• Mix 4 to 6 oz. of water with 1 Tbsp. ACV and drink this about an hour before bed.

3. Improve your sleep
• Take vitamin D3 with vitamin K2 and B1 or nutritional yeast before bed, try a breathing technique (from my video), take a nap.

4. Lower your stress
• Take a long walk in nature, take nutritional yeast, expose yourself to infrared light, do physical work.

5. Stay consistent with lowering your carbs
• Don’t cheat on your diet, and check your A1C.

6. Do intermittent fasting
• In the beginning, consume more fat at the end of your meal to fast longer. Once you’re fat-adapted, reduce your fat. When you’ve hit your goal, add more fat to maintain your weight. Don’t go below 75 g of fat per day.

7. Consume nutrient-dense foods
• Do Healthy Keto® with quality nutrient-dense foods.

Detraining is defined as when you stop training and lose gains. Research shows that we tend to lose muscle very quickly with complete bed rest – mostly due to suppressed muscle protein synthesis. Doing any kind of physical activity, though, will maintain muscle much better than doing nothing. There are three main factors that will determine how quickly you lose muscle mass: physical activity level (bed rest vs everyday activities vs minimal bodyweight workouts vs weight training), caloric intake, and protein intake. Research shows us that you can prevent muscle loss through training (even minimal bodyweight workouts) and diet (eating at maintenance calories and consuming sufficient protein, 1.6-2.2 g/kg). Older individuals (over 60 years old) may require slightly higher training volume to maintain muscle mass than younger individuals, but the same general recommendations still apply. Finally, even if you lose size, muscle memory will rebuild lost mass quickly.
