Detraining is defined as when you stop training and lose gains. Research shows that we tend to lose muscle very quickly with complete bed rest – mostly due to suppressed muscle protein synthesis. Doing any kind of physical activity, though, will maintain muscle much better than doing nothing. There are three main factors that will determine how quickly you lose muscle mass: physical activity level (bed rest vs everyday activities vs minimal bodyweight workouts vs weight training), caloric intake, and protein intake. Research shows us that you can prevent muscle loss through training (even minimal bodyweight workouts) and diet (eating at maintenance calories and consuming sufficient protein, 1.6-2.2 g/kg). Older individuals (over 60 years old) may require slightly higher training volume to maintain muscle mass than younger individuals, but the same general recommendations still apply. Finally, even if you lose size, muscle memory will rebuild lost mass quickly.

HOW TO LOSE WEIGHT and BELLY FAT?
First and foremost there are several different types of body fat. The two main fats discussed are
1 – Subcutaneous Fat which sits under your skin.
2 – Visceral Fat which is the belly fat predominantly stored around your organs.

Visceral fat is the most dangerous type of body fat and interferes with our hormone production as well as increases our risk of type 2 diabetes, heart disease and cancers. However, it is not all doom and gloom!
visceral fat (belly fat) responds very well to regular exercise, a diet high in whole grains and lean proteins. It also responds very well to undisturbed sleep.

-There are actually a few versions you can choose from depending on your preferences: standard ketogenic diet, cyclical ketogenic diet, targeted ketogenic diet, high-protein ketogenic diet.

8 am: breakfast:
Tulsi Smoothie Bowl:
1 frozen banana
10-12 tulsi (holy basil) leaves – do not have tulsi when you are menstruating.
homemade curd: 1/2 cup
water: 1/2 to 3/4 cup (depending on how thick or thin you want the smoothie to be).
flax seeds: 1 tbsp
———– toppings——-
10 almonds, sliced.
1 tsp chia seeds
1/2 tsp cinnamon powder
1 tsp cacao nibs
1/3 tsp DIY turmeric tea mix (links above)

Mid morning snack: 10 am
pomegranate seeds or any fruits like 2 round slices of pineapple, half a mango, a small bowl of watermelon, grapes, strawberries etc

1 pm : lunch – Spicy Ragi Porridge
3-4 tbsp ragi flour
1 1/2 to 2 cups of water, depending on how thick or thin you want the porridge to be
2 tbsp grated coconut
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp turmeric
1/4 tsp black pepper powder

sliced coconut pieces: 1 tbsp
1 medium shallot
Green chilies: 1
whole red chilies: 2
curry leaves
1 tsp coconut oil
1/2 tsp jeera
1/4 tsp methi seeds

Eve: 4 pm – half a handful of roasted peanuts/cashew nuts

Dinner: 7 pm
cooked single polished rice: 1/2 cup

try to sleep after 2 hours of dinner
drink plenty of water all through the day and keep yourself hydrated
you can mix and match from my other meal plan.
Thyroid and diabetic people can have this meal plan.
If you are taking meds for thyroid, have it on empty stomach and take the juice only after 30-40 mins.
