I didn’t eat for 7 days! Yes, that’s right. This was a mental and physical EXPERIMENT. This is not a long term diet plan or a way to consistently lose weight. In this video I share my results from fasting for 7 days drinking only water. I lost almost 5 Kgs within 7 days. Watch the video for my water fasting experience, results!

If you do a 7 day fast, I really recommend that you watch @drjasonfung & @DrEricBergDC videos on it. It gives all advice and knowledge to support you during your fast.

Also, my re-feed consisted of homemade Bone Broth, Tender Coconut Water and some fruit. The food over the next few days could have been better for sure. But I took the suggested 4 days to get back to proper solid food that i would eat before.

I took plenty of rest during this fast, despite me not showing it. Filming me laying and sitting around for 7 days wouldn’t have made a very interesting video.

I also reviewed the following water brands – Aquafina, Bisleri, Himalayan, Evocus and Evian. A reviewer has to review you know 😉

The ketogenic diet, or keto, has become a popular way to lose weight. The high-fat, low-carb diet is a drastic change from the diet that the USDA recommends for Americans. It’s also a huge change for your body’s metabolism.

And while keto is proven to help you shed the pounds, the diet can come with some side effects, like the notorious keto flu.The high-fat, low-carb ketogenic diet, or keto for short, has become a popular way to lose weight. And while keto is proven to help you shed the pounds, it’s a huge change for your body’s metabolism and can come with some serious side effects.

Following is a transcript of the video:

Step aside Atkins. There’s a new fad diet in town.

The ketogenic diet, or keto for short. Celebrities like Halle Berry, Kourtney Kardashian, and Vanessa Hudgens all swear by it.

And if losing weight is your goal, keto works! It’s proven to help you shed pounds fast. But there’s more to this diet than meets the eye.Keto basically replaces carbs with fat. A typical keto diet looks like this: 70% fat, 25% protein, 5% carbohydrates. It’s a drastic change from the diet that the USDA recommends for Americans: Less than 30% fat, 20-35% protein, at least 50% carbs, and it’s a significant change for your body’s metabolism too. Usually, when you eat carbs, like a starchy potato, enzymes in your mouth, stomach, and small intestine break them into a form of sugar energy, called glucose, which your brain and body use for fuel.

So, when you skip out on carbs, the first couple of days you might experience some strong sugar cravings. Because your body is switching gears, from burning carbs to the only energy it has left: fat.

Once you’re burning fat regularly, you’ll start to see the pounds melt away. Depending on your weight, you might lose up to 3.5 pounds within the first week. As you burn more fat, levels of insulin — the fat-storing hormone — will drop significantly. This triggers your kidneys to release large amounts of sodium into the blood.

Which can actually lead to a common side effect known as the “keto flu.” Many keto dieters report symptoms like: Nausea, Headaches, Dizziness, Muscle cramps, and low energy levels.

But most of these symptoms will only occur within the first couple weeks of starting the diet.

After the first month, the scales will look better. But some of that lost weight isn’t actually fat. It’s water.

Because some of the carbs you’ve metabolized include glycogen, which retains water and therefore helps keep you hydrated. As a result, you’ll likely pee more, which will lower your sodium levels even more, leading to: Dehydration, Constipation or diarrhea, and bad breath.

Once you’re a couple months in you might hit the notorious keto plateau. It’s a common term in the keto community and refers to when people find it harder to continue losing weight. One study, for example, found that overweight people lost an average of 15 pounds in the first month. Another 11 pounds over the next two months. But after that, they saw no change in body weight — despite sticking to the keto diet.

At this point, many people quit keto. That’s why researchers often find it hard to study the long-term effects of the diet. But, as it turns out, there is one group that typically sticks to keto.

It’s unclear why, but keto has been proven to reduce the symptoms of epilepsy. And studies show that epileptic children who stay on very restricted keto diets for several years can suffer from: Kidney stones, High cholesterol, and bone fractures.

But a typical keto diet won’t be nearly as strict and if you do want to try keto, you should talk to a doctor first. In the meantime, go ahead and enjoy that bread and remember, the best diet is a balanced one of fat, protein, and — yes, even — carbs.

Our bodies are wired to store fat around our Center of mass which happens to be the belly love handles and hips. And there’s a very good reason for this. Storing pounds fat on more distal areas like your hands and your feet would require a lot more energy to carry around and to do the things that we need to do on a daily basis to survive. And this defeats the whole biological purpose of storing fat, to begin with, which is essentially your body trying to stock up on energy in the form of body fat in case of a future famine where there’s a shortage of food or in other words a shortage of energy. In sports like wrestling and judo, we can see that our center of mass gives us the leverage we need to carry heavy weight loads without expending a ton of energy. Your body already naturally knows this so that’s why one of the first areas to gain fat when you overeat is your belly. Unfortunately, even though your body is wired to view this as very efficient not only in the stomach area the last spot that most people want to gain fat but it’s also very unhealthy to carry large amounts of fat around your midsection. Now even though your body is quick to store fat around your stomach it’s very hesitant to let it go and will usually be one of the last spots that it pulls fat from. So you need to reduce your overall body fat percentage low enough for your body to burn the fat everwhere else before it starts pulling energy from the fat stored around your midsection. This is done mostly through diet so a lot of times many people follow a strict diet which becomes more and more difficult the longer you try to stick to it. And the very first extremely effective thing that you can do is limit the number of high sugar foods that you eat. So this includes your produce department Seafood meat eggs and some dairy. This is because the inner aisles are usually where you’ll find all the processed food that ends up raising your insulin levels to increase your daily calorie count and of course contributing to the storage of belly fat. However other than high-sugar cereals chips and cookies, there are some things in the inner aisles like rice quinoa and nuts that can actually fill up your stomach and help you reduce body fat.
So when you do go into the inner aisles you want to follow the next tip which is to pick mostly single-ingredient Foods. These are foods that have a low-calorie density which means that for the amount of space that they take up in your stomach the only add a relatively low amount of calories to your daily total. A perfect example of this is comparing Oreos to something like broccoli. Just one Oreo will have 40 calories mostly in the form of sugar. For the same many calories you can fill your stomach with whole cup broccoli. Now on top of that single-ingredient foods require more calories to digest. The Oreo will quickly and easily be broken down into simple sugar without much effort meanwhile the broccoli…
